Director Bala is working on his Thara Thappattai based on the traditional art forms of Tamil Nadu. The film has Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in lead roles.
It has been said that Sasikumar plays a Nadaswara Vidwan with a completely new look sans his trademark beard, but sporting a pencil line moustache. Recently Bala also brought on board Satish Kaushik, a talented artist from Bollywood.
The latest update we have on the film is that by mid January 2015, 75% of the film's shoot would be completed and the unit plans to move to the picturesque Andaman Islands for the next schedule.
Chezhian wields the camera for Thara Thappattai and Ilayaraja scores music for the film which incidentally is the Maestro’s 1000th film.
