Will Kamal heed to Siddharth's wish

Hit or miss, Siddharth has always proved his penchant for good cinema and taking up challenging roles. He boldly took up 'Jigarthanda' the film in which the antagonist Simha had equal screen presence and importance. The film was a super hit and also received enormous critical acclaim. In his recent release 'Kaaviyathalaivan' the actor took up the role of a theatre artist who is also patriotic in the early decades of the 20th century. The film has ended up as a poor grosser however, reviewers appreciated Siddharth for pulling off the role convincingly. After this the young actor has the ‘EnakkuL Oruvan’ the Tamil remake of Kannada super hit and critically acclaimed ‘Lucia’.

With these many would have forget that Siddharth was once a young man who aspired to become a director and joined the Mani Ratnam school for learning filmmaking and also worked as AD in 2002 film ‘Kannathil Muthamittal’. The young talent was eventually picked up by director Shankar and cast him in the lead role in Boys which drastically changed Siddharth’s  path in the film industry.

However the director in Siddharth has not died down. Even in a recent interview Siddharth has opened up his wish to become a director and also said directing the legendary Kamal Haasan is one of his big dreams. Hope the ‘Ulganayagan’ is listening.
