Superstar Rajini's Lingaa was always expected to break box office records all over the world. The thespian's market pull is extra-ordinary and among the very best considering all Indian stars.
In the USA, Lingaa has broken into the all time Top 5 for Tamil films and is already the highest grosser among all Tamil films released this year with a reported gross of 806,190 USD, after just the first 2 days (Thursday and Friday). This figure includes a very minmal contribution from the Telugu dubbed version. Kochadaiiyaan and Kaththi occupied the Top 2 spots in the US this year, before Lingaa arrived.
